OKSAMITA – Ukrainian singer and TV-broadcaster. She works in Pop-rock style. Oksamita started to sing at an early chil dhood. "My first stage was a stool in our home. My first spectators - polite relatives and enthusiastic parents …" - the singer likes to recollect. Numerous competitions, concerts, festivals - it all became an integral part of Oksamita’s life. She finished musical school, participated and won numerous musical competitions. After graduating high school Oksamita left her native city and moved to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. For several years she improved her musical skills, studying in musical college, and being involved in different youth projects, festivals and events.
Oksamita is a welcomed guest at National holiday events and private parties, but her main priority is … "… not simply to entertain people but to use my talent and my energy to change their lives, to sow eternal seeds of love, hope and faith…".
Oksamita holds a Diploma of Musical Conductor, a Diploma of Cultural Community Organizer, a Masters degree of TV and Movie Arts, and a Bachelors degree of Practical Theology.
Oksamita is involved in a variety of concerts and other activities both for Christian and secular circles working as a singer and master of ceremonies. Also she regularly participates in different charity projects for orphans, street kids, in prisons and hospitals.
Oksamita takes an active social position, initiates charitable projects, promotes and advances Christian values, a healthy way of life and patriotism. The singer actively co-operates with Regional and city administrations, youth organizations, HIV-services and peace-making organizations.
Oksamita is the author of the famous song “Keep Living” dedicated to AIDS victims, which became the theme song of the National Ukrainian project "Compassion".
Oksamita initiated a national peace-action "Love is Greater than War" devoted to war victims. The project inspiration came from her hit song by the same name.
Oksamita was awarded commendations from Ukrainian National Network of HIV-positive People and Organization of Peacemakers of Ukraine for her contribution to solutions on social issues in Ukraine.
Oksamita presented her first album, in the year 2007, "Love is Greater" in two language versions: Ukrainian-Russian and English www.oksamita.com. |
